6 transitional wardrobe pieces

Hands up if you agree the stretch between winter and spring feels so long it may as well be its own season (raises hand emphatically).

This “fifth season” can be a tricky one to dress for. You’re torn between desperately wanting to ditch your parka and not quite ready to fully embrace bare legs again. What to wear…what to wear…?

Here are my 6 go-to pieces for this year’s transition from winter to spring.

1. lighTweight cardigan

I’ll wear it on its own as a top or layer over a bodysuit or T-shirt. Plus, it will look great with a classic leather jacket as temps rise.

2. Coloured Jeans

I’m lightening things up by swapping out black or blue denim for a beige/taupe. All the comfort/warmth of jeans but they feel fresh.

3. leather PantS

Not ready to retire this staple just yet! Instead of a chunky sweater I’ll pair them with a slim-fitting knit or flowy blouse.

4. knIt dress

Knitwear is perfect for in-between seasons. A knit dress will transition nicely with boots now and sneakers or slides soon.

5. shacket

Instead of being hidden under winter coats, I’m excited for shackets to be the outerwear. Great over a lounge set, leggings and a bodysuit or a dress!

6. Light coloured Lug soles

Another winter staple that I’m simply swapping out for a new colour. Same great boot, refreshed vibe.

Best of all, these pieces mix and match perfectly - a mini capsule wardrobe, if you will.
